Am I stylin'?

Grammie (me) got to take Shelby to the orthopedic doctor on Wednesday. Seems she developed a bump on her collarbone near her neck from the fall off the doctor's table several weeks ago. Two sets of x-rays about two weeks apart did not reveal any break SO we needed the orthopedic doc's opinion. Since it is not limiting her in any way, he is pretty sure it is a clavical injury and it is to be watched. Anyway, I seemed to forget the part about entertaining a small child in the waiting room while waiting for the doctor and neglected to take any books, toys, etc., to keep Shelby occupied while we waited. My purse became her treasure chest. We looked at the pictures on my digital camera, used paper and pen (and got ink all over her hands), and then she found my sunglasses. She put them on and asked, "Am I stylin' Grammie? Take a picture with your camera. Here's the results......

Then the camera batteries died.......... Our next "find" was a round green plastic tape measurer that was my Grandmother's. The tape itself is cloth (doesn that date it?) and has a spring loaded rewind. Shelby decided it was a frog and had a great time pulling the tape out and pressing the button to rewind it.

As we were walking to the room she questioned the nurse...."No, shots, right?" The nurse replied that they didn't give shots there. When we got in the room she began negotiations for a sucker. The nurse left to "find the sucker." While she was gone, before the doctor came in, the tape measurer turned into a ball and we played catch and counted all the objects in the room. She stayed on the chair and did not crawl up on the table (wonder why?!). She kept asking if it was going to take "ten hundred minutes" for the nurse to return with the sucker. When the doctor came in so did the nurse. Shelby's first question was "Where is my sucker?" The nurse promptly left to get one. The exam with the doctor went well and then we were off to McDonalds for lunch cause she was a brave little girl........and a charmer!!
